The Institute for Didactics of Chemistry offers an enthusiastic, hardworking Prae Doc the possibility to be part of the research in didactically developing, testing and evaluating (experimental) options for learning and teaching in inclusive classes.

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description: 
Accomplishment of research projects, in scientific studies focused on the (further) development, edition and didactical evaluation of differentiating learning opportunities in inclusive chemistry classes. Furthermore, the candidate will have to teach courses independently to the extent specified in the collective agreement. Participation in research, teaching and administration: – Participation in research projects / research studies – Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations – We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months. – Supervision of students – Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposiums – Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration.

Diploma or master degree in chemistry, displaying relevant technical and didactical competence (preferably relevant specifications in chemistry didactics and in (special needs) education or psychology. First experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as editing statistical data and corresponding evaluation programs, qualitative content analysis.

Keen interest in handling didactical questions, experience in class, ideally in inclusive teaching settings. High ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing in German, as participating in classes with teaching language German is expected. – Excellent command of written and spoken English – IT user skills – Teamplayer Desirable qualifications are – Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning – Knowledge of university processes and structures – Experience abroad – Basic experience in research methods and academic writing.
