Female Researcher in Material Science at the National Institute for Materials Science, Japan

National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) is recruiting female researchers from a wide range of fields (Materials engineering, Applied Physics, Materials chemistry, Materials data science, etc.). Researchers from any fields are accepted as long as their research is related to the materials. Applicants may have expertise in both fundamental or applied research. We welcome applicants from outside Japan and applicants who have corporate experience. We are recruiting female researchers who can engage in the world-class, next-generation materials research.

Taking into account the suitability of prospective employee, NIMS will assign among the promotion field.

Qualifications

1. Female researchers should have a PhD or expect to receive the degree by the start of employment.
* In carrying out Article 8 of the Equal Employment Opportunity Law (Special Provisions of Measures Pertaining to Women Workers), as a measure to actively improve the considerably low percentage of female researchers, we limit our applicants to female researchers.
2. Sufficient English language ability for communication with staff and collaborators.
3. No person falling under any of the following items shall be eligible for the application:
(i) An adult ward or a person under guardianship;
(ii) A person who has been convicted of a crime and sentenced to imprisonment even if the person has completed the sentence or been paroled;
(iii) A person who was dismissed by disciplinary action and a period of two years has not expired since the day of that disposition;
(iv) A person who, on or after the date of the enforcement of the Constitution of Japan, formed or belonged to a political party or other organization that advocated the overthrow by
force of the Constitution of Japan or the government established thereunder.
