An exciting postdoctoral position in structural and functional studies of E3 ubiquitin ligases is now available in the laboratory of Dr. Sagar Bhogaraju at EMBL Grenoble, France.
We are looking for a highly driven individual to join investigations into the structure and function of multi-subunit ubiquitin ligase complexes. We will use a multidisciplinary approach to study macromolecule structure and function by combining cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, tissue culture and mass-spectrometry.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in Molecular Biology or related field with at least one first author research article. The candidate should have experience in molecular biology techniques, including cloning, protein expression and purification as well as good skills in biochemistry.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in mass-spectrometry and/or cryo-EM. Prior experience in the field of ubiquitin biology or protein homeostasis would be an advantage.
Why join us
EMBL Grenoble enables access to state-of-the-art structural biology technologies, including the ESRF synchrotron X-ray beamlines for MX and SAXS, as well as protein expression screening, insect cell facilities, biophysical platform, confocal microscopy and high-throughput crystallization platforms. We have local access to excellent cryo-EM instrumentation including the in-house FEI T12 microscope, FEI Glacios cryo-EM equipped with Falcon 3 detector and FEI Titan Krios at the ESRF. In addition to local instrumentation we have access to all core facilities in other EMBL Institutes including cryo-EM, mass-spectrometry and chemical biology core facilities.
EMBL is an inclusive, equal opportunity employer offering attractive conditions and benefits appropriate to an international research organisation with a very collegial and family friendly working environment. The remuneration package comprises a competitive salary, a comprehensive pension scheme, medical, educational and other social benefits. Scientists at EMBL Grenoble are provided with an invaluable resource of technical know-how and access to the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, which produces ultra-intense X–ray beams.
