DescriptionApplications are solicited for a postdoctoral fellow position to work jointly with the laboratories of Dr. Hyun (Michel) Koo (Dental Medicine) and Dr. David Cormode (Radiology Department) at the University of Pennsylvania. The aim of this position will be to lead a NIH-funded project on developing new therapeutic approaches to fight biofilms and oral infectious diseases using nanotechnology and nanocatalysis.
QualificationsA candidate for this position should hold a PhD in one of the following fields: biology, chemistry, pharmacology, materials science or bioengineering. Prior experience working with nanoparticles or biomaterials for biological applications is important. Successful candidates should have hands-on experience with advanced microscopy as well as in vivo models. Responsibilities would include nanoparticle synthesis, electron/confocal microscopy, assessment of catalytic activities, cell culture, microbiological/biochemical in vitro assays and in vivo analysis. The applicant should be highly motivated, collaborative and exhibit excellent interdisciplinary skills with good communication skills, and be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
