Consent Preferences Research Specialist in Leukemic dysregulation regulation of fetal hematopoiesis – Scholar Idea

The Department of Medicine, Huddinge conducts preclinical and clinical research in a variety of areas and undergraduate and graduate education. The department is internationally oriented and consists of seven units with about 40 teams.

Your mission

We are looking for a scientist with a long-term experience working in the area of leukemic dysregulation regulation of fetal hematopoiesis. The researcher will drive a project with focus on unraveling how the normal cellular and molecular pathways governing lineage commitment from hematopoietic stem cells to lineage-restricted progenitors during embryonic development, are dysregulated in preleukemic and leukemic hematopoiesis. The project will largely utilize mouse models of normal and malignant hematopoiesis but also have access to relevant patient material.

Applicants are expected to take the lead on a high-profile research project through active pursuit of relevant experiments, and through regular interactions with the group leader and important collaborators.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.

The applicant should have a strong track record (evidence of one or more high impact first author publications) in studies of the genetics of pediatric leukemia is a requirement to be considered for this position.

Extensive experience working with pediatric leukemia.

Experience working with mouse models of normal and malignant hematopoiesis.

Assessment criteria

Training in international leading laboratories is a merit as is a background in pediatric oncology.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills to plan experimental bench-work and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently when required. Ability to stay on top of the relevant research field is an absolute requirement.

Good knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
