Postdoc in functional Polymer materials for water purification to develop bio-based adsorbents, membranes and filters for water purification.

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key centre of intellectual talent and innovation. We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Our research and education covers a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history and philosophy.

Job description

This project aims to the development of smart bio-based adsorbents, membranes and filters for water purification. The scientific objectives are: i) Devising feasible and sustainable pathways for functionalization of polymers to improve the adsorption capacity, ii) Stimuli-responsive adsorbents, iii) Recovery of captured agents and regeneration of absorbents, and iv) In-depth understanding on structural and chemical relationships that affects the performance of the materials.

Work tasks include laboratory and analytical work, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating syntheses and materials, as well as written and oral presentation.

The project is part of the research program Mistra TerraClean, funded by Mistra. You will have great opportunities to work within a large network within academia, institutes, and industry in Sweden.
