Electrical engineering with specialization in power electronic control

Subject description

The subject includes the development of knowledge and methods for analysis, modeling and control of power electronic converters and systems, with special focus on applications in power systems with a large share of renewable power production.

Duties

The duties include research and supervision of PhD students and Postdocs as well as teaching at all levels within the subject area. The duties also include establishment of an independent research group covering theoretical as well as experimental activities.
Also included is the task to further develop existing, and create new, strategic level collaborations with Swedish industry within the subject area.

Eligibility

A person who has demonstrated both research and teaching expertise shall be qualified for employment as a professor.

Grounds of assessment

The assessment criteria for appointment as a professor at KTH shall be the degree of expertise required as a qualification for employment. In addition, the assessment criteria stated in the KTH appointments procedure, section 1.1, apply in relation to the employment profile laid down.

Of highest importance is that the applicant has

  • research expertise in the subject area, including expertise in collaboration with it surrounding society demonstrated through projects funded by and / or implemented in collaboration with actors in industry.

Of second highest importance that the applicant has

  • teaching skills in the subject field.
  • expertise to develop and lead activities and staff. This includes knowledge of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
  • interpersonal skills.

It is also important that the applicant has

  • administrative expertise.
