The primary purpose of the Human Research Ethics Administrator is to ensure the effective processing of Human Research Ethics applications at Deakin University through the provision of support to Deakin’s Human Research Ethics Committee (DUHREC) and the Human Research Ethics team (part of Deakin Research Integrity). The Deakin Research Integrity Unit (part of Deakin Research) is responsible for the central administration of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, and for required approval processes in relation to research involving animals, humans and genetically modified organisms, on behalf of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research). This position sits within the Human Research Ethics team, reporting to the Human Research Ethics Adviser. The incumbent works closely with the Human Research Ethics team, DUHREC, Faculty administrative staff and with researchers and students seeking human ethics approval.
