The Montgomery Lab is a translational laboratory focused on understanding the mechanisms of complex diseases known to have genetic underpinnings and immune dysregulation. The team utilizes high throughput bimolecular assays, deep cellular phenotyping, and single cell genomic and proteomic methods through our Human Phenotyping Core. We also have access to high performance computational resources both in-house and through cloud-based resources.   This is a mentored position for postdoctoral training. Our research investigates the regulatory functions that control gene expression within the complex landscape of the three-dimensional genome and how genetic variations influence these regulatory functions to cause human diseases such as Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and other autoimmune diseases.   We perform a wide variety of high-throughput sequencing technologies in both bulk and single cell technologies: genotyping arrays, RNA-seq, single cell (sc)RNA-seq, Perturb-seq, long sequence Nanopore sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, etc. In addition, we leverage gene-editing technologies, i.e. CRISPR/Cas9 editing, to functionally characterize non-coding regulatory regions of the genome in the context of native 3D chromatin regulatory network using 3C technologies (3C-qPCR, etc.) and promoter capture Micro-C.
