The School of Business and Economics, one of five faculties at Linnaeus University, conducts research and education in business administration, economics, statistics and tourism studies. We contribute with entrepreneurial thinking and sustainable solutions to complex organizational and societal problems. The School of Business and Economics is accredited by AACSB.

In order to meet future societal challenges and constantly be at the forefront of education and research, The School of Business and Economics needs to recruit a senior lecturer in business administration with a focus on external accounting and/or auditing. The position will be part of a subject group that also includes management control as well as financing. Together, we run educational programs at both advanced, and basic level. Subject area for the position: Business Administration with focus on external accounting and/or auditing.
Location: Kalmar or Växjö.
Scope and duration of employment: Full-time employment.
Other: The position is placed at the Department of Management. Start of position by agreement.

Work description
As a senior lecturer your duties will consist of planning and carrying out teaching and examination at basic and advanced level courses within education programs, independent courses as well as research and research-related activities. The subject area includes external accounting and/or auditing with both a national and international focus. Some parts of the teaching are in English, but the applicant is expected to be able to teach in Swedish. Collaboration with other teachers/researchers, as well as active participation in the department’s internal and external work is part of the position. Actively participating in the department’s internal and external work – both its educational and research activities – is therefore a prerequisite. Cooperation and flexibility are of great importance in all work tasks.

Applicants must have good teaching ability and good subject knowledge within accounting and/or auditing. The employment involves frequent student contacts, collaboration with colleagues both within teaching and within the research group, and exchange with the surrounding community.

Eligibility criteria
Eligible to be employed as a senior lecturer is someone who has completed a doctorate in business administration with a focus on external accounting and/or auditing or has completed a doctorate in business administration with a focus in another related field.

According to Linnaeus University’s employment regulations, the teaching skills refer to planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching, as well as supervision and examination and course development. Pedagogical skill also refers to the ability to write teaching materials and a like.

Eligibility for this position also requires that the applicant:

  • Has experience of teaching within the specified subject area at university level.
  • Has the ability to communicate well both orally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Has experience of collaboration within teaching teams and research environments.

Additional assessment criteria
The assessment is based on the applicant’s scientific and pedagogical skills according to the eligibility requirements described above. Pedagogical skill and scientific skill are assessed with equal weight.

Additional assessment criteria:

  • Documented experience of teaching in external accounting and/or auditing.
  • Demonstrated ability for digital innovation in teaching at all levels of education.
  • Documented experience of continued and independent publication after doctoral degree.
