The Department of Politics & Society at The Faculty of Social Sciences – Aalborg University invites applications for one or more full time post doc positions in social data science. We are particularly interested in applications from candidates that apply computational methods in such subject areas as political behavior, political parties, public policy and/or public administration. Candidates with project ideas in alternative substantial fields of research are also encouraged to apply. The positions are open for appointment from January 1st, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The maximum length of the appointment is four years.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Department of Politics & Society is organized in the four research clusters: Institutions, Policy & Behavior; Public Administration & Digitalization; Global Dynamics & Politics; and History (see https://www.politics-society.aau.dk/research/research-clusters). The successful applicant(s) will be associated with the scientifically relevant research cluster.
Successful candidates are expected to develop and work on an independent research project, and to contribute to teaching in computational social science at the Bsc and Msc level. The post doc positions are open for appointment from January 1st, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The maximum length of the appointment is four years. By the end of the appointment, the post docs are expected to have achieved qualifications equivalent to the level of an associate professor.
Qualification requirements
Candidates must have scientific qualifications at PhD level. In the selection of candidates, emphasis will be placed on research potential and pedagogical qualifications as well as experience with supervision and lectures. To a limited extent other tasks may occur in the position.

- List of publications that the applicant wishes to be considered. A maximum of 5 publications may be submitted.
- Co-author statements in relation to publications written with other authors must be enclosed with a declaration from each of the authors, stating the extent of the applicant’s contribution to the total work. The declaration must be signed by the co-authors. Template co-author declaration.

Assessment
An expert assessment committee will assess all candidates.
Shortlisting will be applied. This means that subsequent to the deadline for applications the head of department supported by the chair of the assessment committee will select candidates for assessment. All applicants will be informed whether they will be assessed or not. The selected applicants will be informed of the composition of the assessment committee, and each applicant will have the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that applies to the applicant in question. When the employment process has been terminated, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.

AGREEMENT
Appointment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science’s Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Salary is in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State. Workplace is in Aalborg.
