Full Professor (Chair) in Human Behaviour in Department of Technology, Management and Economics (DTU Management)
Department of Technology, Management and Economics (DTU Management) invites applications for a permanent faculty position as full professor (chair) in Human Behaviour. At DTU, you will have the possibility to break the ground for understanding human behaviour and what it means in relation to technologies and the green transition. Your work will support the DTU vision of creating “technology for people”.
You are at the frontier in understanding how humans perceive, decide and act with their environment. Key questions are how these abilities develop and change over the lifespan and vary across individuals, groups, and cultures. How are they shaped by socioeconomic and political factors? What policies and interventions can influence individual behaviour or outcome?
DTU Management offers an interdisciplinary environment bridging social sciences to technical sciences. We are international leading and offers great opportunities for collaborating with leading scholars. Our research is empirically based and data intensive.
We encourage excellent candidates with a background in e.g. psychology or economics to apply. The chair may cover a broad range of research topics within human behaviour such as perceptions, preferences, decision-making, communication, social cognition, behaviour and public policy. The department particularly welcomes researchers with domain knowledge in the areas of environmental behaviour and/or transportation.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The professor will carry out excellent research on human behaviour in relation to sustainable technology and the green transition. The key responsibilities are:
- Research leadership in order to strengthen and develop the profile and international visibility of the department
- Guidance and supervision of early career researchers
- External collaboration with academia, the industry and public agencies
- Teaching and supervision at under graduate and graduate level
- Attracting grants and initiate and secure external funding for new projects
- Especially in the case of transportation, involvement in public sector advice can be expected
The position will involve teaching in existing relevant courses, developing new relevant course materials and possible course responsibility. As a teacher, you must like communicating in an inspiring and motivating way in courses and coach students in projects, which must be clear in your teaching plan. You are also expected to advise B.Sc.-, M.Sc.- and PhD-thesis projects.
DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. Applicants are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both. Daily working language at the Department is English.

Salary and terms of employment
We offer an attractive teaching conditions, possibilities to favorable taxation for non-Danish residence (see Danish Tax Authority), funding for research, traveling, and a competitive salary. Denmark offers abundant research funding opportunities from its many private and public foundations.
Starting date is according to mutual agreement. The position is a full-time position.
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The salary for the position will be determined by the applicant’s qualifications and in agreement with the relevant union.
