The Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute is one of the world’s leading research institutes in the fields of animal diseases, animal welfare, animal husbandry, animal nutrition and farm animal genetics. It is affiliated to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and its role is to inform and advise the Federal Government in these fields.

In Mariensee, the Institute of Farm Animal Genetics has the vacancy of a

doctoral position (m/f/d)

in the project “proteomics and single-cell sequencing based analysis of bovine embryo development”. The position is temporary from 1st January 2022 until 31st December 2024 and is offered as a part-time position with 65% of the regular weekly working time (currently 25.35 hours).

Tasks:

  • Bovine in vitro embryo production under different culture conditions
  • Proteomic analysis of bovine embryos
  • Single cell sequencing analysis of bovine embryos

Requirements:

  • University degree in veterinary medicine, medicine, biology, biochemistry or a similar discipline

Advantageous are:

  • Expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry or cell biology
  • Experience in in vitro embryo production
  • Experience in general lab work
  • Excellent English language skills

We expect a high level of motivation and excellent communication skills, as well as good work organisation and the ability to work in a team.
