The Laboratory for Glia Biology, headed by Dr. Matthew Holt, is a vibrant environment where key issues relating to the role of astrocytes in the control of neuronal circuits are investigated.
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated postdoc to work with us on a project investigating the role of astrocytes in controlling plasticity in the adult visual cortex (Hennes et al., Glia, 2020; Bayraktar et al., Nat Neurosci, 2020). The candidate will investigate astrocyte-neuron interactions using acute cortical slices in combination with 2-photon imaging (of genetically encoded Ca2+ and cAMP sensors) and electrophysiology.
Profile
Essential
- Ph.D. in neurobiology or physiology
- Experience in imaging and/or electrophysiology
- A solid publication record with first-author research publication(s) in peer-reviewed international journals.
- Critical mindset, fast learner & team player
- Project management and effective communication skills
- Good mastery of English language
Appreciated
- Knowledge of astrocyte biology
