The research group in Applied Algebraic Geometry at the Department of Mathematics is offering a post-doctoral position for 2 years, with Kathlén Kohn as mentor. The position is funded by WASP (Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program). The main duty is research, in particular on the multidisciplinary WASP NEST project “3D Scene Perception, Embeddings and Neural Rendering” led by Fredrik Kahl (computer vision and image analysis at Chalmers), Kathlén Kohn (algebraic geometry at KTH), Cristian Sminchisescu (computer vision and machine learning at Lund University), and Mårten Björkman (robotics, perception and learning at KTH). A limited amount of teaching or supervision and some administration (e.g., organising seminars or workshops, or maintaining websites) may be part of the duties.

Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (With some exceptions for special reasons such as periods of sick or parental leave, kindly indicate if such reason exists in your resume).
- Strong background in algebraic, complex, differential, or discrete geometry, or related areas of mathematics.
- Strong interest in applications, particularly machine learning and computer vision.
- Written and spoken English proficiency, very good communication and teamwork skills, in particular a willingness to collaborate with engineers and industry.
- Strong motivation and ability to work independently.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in machine learning or computer vision.
- Documented teaching abilities.
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, notably regarding gender equality.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
