The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in the area of Pharmacology and Toxicology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with an expected start date of April 1, 2022 or shortly thereafter.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology, Toxicology or a related area by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching in Pharmacology and Toxicology. We seek candidates whose professional educational expertise complements and strengthens our existing departmental strengths, http://www.pharmtox.utoronto.ca. The successful candidate will have educational and professional expertise and experience in Drug Discovery & Development, Innovation & Commercialization, and Professional Development.
Previous experience working with industry partners and the ability to create diverse collaborations are assets, as is experience with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; Indigenous health research; or social entrepreneurship and community based research and/or partnerships.
Candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and pedagogical inquiry, and have undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience that includes lecture preparation, delivery and assessment. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to improving their pedagogical practices, and an interest in scholarship of teaching and learning.
Evidence for excellence in teaching and pedagogical inquiry can be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, innovative course development, awards and accolades, presentations at and participation in significant conferences, and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, which must include a strong and reflective teaching statement, sample syllabi, course materials and teaching evaluations, as well as strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
