Associate/Full Professor of Nutrition Science

The Position
The Department of Nutrition Science in the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) seeks applicants for a tenured faculty position, at the associate or full professor level, focused on human/clinical nutrition. The successful candidate will also direct the Purdue Clinical Research Center (CRC) for the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI; www.purdue.edu/hhs/nutr/crc).

The Purdue CRC is a 7,000 square ft nutrition clinical research facility that provides bionutrition, dietary assessment, and clinical services for the Department, College, campus and CTSI. The CRC includes space, equipment, and staff to support government-, academic-, and industry-sponsored human clinical research studies. The CRC also coordinates with CTSI resources at Indiana University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will work with faculty and staff to ensure high quality services, plan for and develop new opportunities, and manage the CRC staff and resources. This is a 12 month (Fiscal Year) appointment for as long as the successful candidate remains the Director of the CRC.

The successful candidate will also bring and sustain an independent externally funded research program. The individual will participate in teaching and outreach activities consistent with the appointment and candidate’s area of expertise. The candidate’s human/clinical research expertise will complement and strengthen core interests of interdepartmental nutrition program faculty, and will support HHS strategic research areas (https:\\www.purdue.edu/hhs/research/signature-areas.php). Opportunities to collaborate in HHS and campus-wide exist in obesity, gerontology, child/adolescent development, women’s health, disease prevention, imaging, and biomedical engineering, among others.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a PhD in nutrition science or a closely related field, or a clinical doctorate (MD, DNP, PharmD, etc.). Postdoctoral research experience, a strong publication record, and demonstrated ability to obtain external research funding are also required.
