Job Summary

The Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences at Purdue University seeks a postdoctoral researcher to join Thermochronology at Purdue (T@P), the research group led by Professor Marissa Tremblay. The postdoctoral researcher will apply noble gas geochronology and thermochronology to research questions in Earth system science. The postdoctoral researcher can contribute to existing funded research projects in T@P aligned with their interests, as well as develop novel research project(s) that capitalize on existing instrumentation and resources in T@P. A Ph.D. in Earth science or a related field must be conferred by the start date of the postdoctoral position. Experience in noble gas mass spectrometry and rock sample preparation techniques is required, as are strong oral, written, and visual communication skills. Experience with computer programming languages such as Python or Matlab is preferred. This is a 2-year position pending satisfactory performance after 1 year, and with the possibility of extension pending availability of funding. The start date is flexible but must be on or before January 1, 2023.  A background check is required for employment in this position.

Education
