Job Summary

Dr. Jorge Banda is hiring a part-time graduate research assistant to work on community-based public health research studies focused on child physical activity, nutrition, and obesity.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruiting and consenting participants, collecting data, assisting with staff training, supervising undergraduate research assistants, and conducting literature reviews.  Work will take place at Purdue University research labs in West Lafayette, Indiana and in community locations.  Transportation will be provided to community locations, if needed.  Work schedules will vary depending on project needs. 

The graduate research assistant will work 20 hours per week.  The rate of pay is $16-18 per hour. Travel reimbursement will be provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) student at Purdue University
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and well organized
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous research experience
  • Previous experience working with children
