Engineeer novel hybrid heterostructures of graphene and metal-organic frameworks to tailor materials properties.

Project description
We are seeking to fill a experimental post-doctoral position with focus on material growth and device fabrication in cleanroom environment. The aim of this project is produce hybrid heterostructures of graphene and metal-organic frameworks to tailor materials properties. Candidates with background on epitaxial graphene growth on silicon carbide and device microfabrication are all welcome to apply. This project will be performed in collaboration with Chemistry and Physics department. This postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment, with a competitive salary according to Swedish and Chalmers regulations.

Major responsibilities
– Eptaxial graphene growth on silicon carbide
– Device fabrication and electrical characterization at room temperature and down to mK

Your major responsibility as postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. The position may also include teaching on undergraduate and master’s levels as well as supervising master’s and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.

Qualifications
You are an experimentalist with a solid background in condensed matter physics, with experience in growth of epitaxial graphene on silicon carbide, and device fabrication/characterization techniques in cleanroom environment.

You must hold a PhD degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline (according to the current agreement with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers) in Physics, Applied Physics, Material science, Nanotechnology, or equivalent. An additional merit is if you have experience in designing and constructing experimental setups.

You are a hands-on person, with strong inner driving force and capabilities for independent work, excellent collaboration skills in a research team, and good oral and written communication skills (English).

You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to teaching, and to demonstrate good potential within research and education.

Contract terms
