Position HighlightsThe Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Biostatistics. The purpose of this position is to increase teaching and research capacity for the Biostatistics education program particularly for the PhD degree in biostatistics. The Associate or Assistant Professor will participate in collaborative biomedical research in addition to maintaining an individual research program. The successful candidate is expected to develop and teach either graduate-level or undergraduate courses, mentor graduate students, and contribute to the research and service mission of the college. Review of applications will begin on January 1, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled. Duties & ResponsibilitiesSustain an independent program of biostatistical research.Develop and teach graduate and undergraduate level biostatistics courses.Supervise Masters and Doctoral students in the Biostatistics Program.Deliver collaborative statistical support for research personnel in the Arizona Health Sciences Center and MEZCOPH.Participate in intramural, extramural and outreach service.
Minimum QualificationsPhD or equivalent in Biostatistics or Statistics.Documented sustained scholarly achievement. Potential for teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Preferred Qualifications* At least 4 years of post-PhD experience. * Demonstrated experience working with biomedical and other researchers. * Expertise in causal inference, design and analysis of clinical trials and/or methods for the analysis of real world data. * Experience or promise for obtaining external funding.
