Position HighlightsThe Finance Department at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, career-track Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, Finance position to begin August 2022. The department is seeking individuals who are able to work with diverse students and colleagues, and who have experience teaching upper division undergraduate or graduate finance courses at an AACSB-accredited university.The faculty member will teach courses at graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds. The faculty member will also participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service. In these and other ways, the faculty member will help develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.Finance is one of the most popular majors at the University of Arizona. In addition to a rigorous and integrated core curriculum taught by leading scholars, students in the finance major have the opportunity to engage in a number of additional opportunities, including the Financial Management Association (the UA chapter of the national organization), the investments club, and the Wall Street Scholars program. Moreover, finance students engage in a number of experiential learning activities—including managing a “real” million-dollar portfolio (FIN 423/523), the CFA Institutes’ Research Challenge and the Chicago Quantitative Alliance Competition.The department offers the Finance Seminar Series that brings in leading finance scholars to present research and interact with faculty and graduate students. Our faculty regularly publish groundbreaking research in the most influential and respected finance journals.The department offers an undergraduate degree in Finance (both online and face to face), a Master’s in Finance program, and teaches several required and elective courses in the Eller MBA program (full-time MBA, evening MBA, online MBA, and executive MBA), and a highly competitive PhD program.This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure.

Duties & Responsibilities • The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of six finance courses per academic year with a typical workload distribution of 80% teaching and 20% service• Participate in service responsibilities at the department, college and/or university level• The successful candidate will mentor individual students and/or student teams and demonstrate the ability and commitment to work with diverse students and colleagues• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Minimum QualificationsLecturer:• Master’s Degree in Finance or related field from an AACSB accredited institution by the start date
• Demonstrated experience in teaching, evidenced by evaluations and/or teaching awardsSenior Lecturer:• Master’s Degree in Finance or related field from an AACSB accredited institution by the start date
• Six or more years of university teaching experience in Finance or related field
• Experience in curriculum development
Preferred Qualifications• Experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives• Experience teaching large enrollment lecture courses successfully• Experience developing and delivering online classes
