The Basel Muscle MRI (BAMM) Group at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Basel is looking for a Postdoctoral fellow on a project titled “Advancing Neuromuscular Disease Evaluation: Developing Novel Multiparametric MRI Methods for Myotonic Dystrophy Assessment and Management.”

Your position

This project aims to develop more advanced methods for image acquisition and explore other possible biomarkers of neuromuscular disease.

Your work will relate to the development of vendor-independent MR pulse sequences using the PyPulseq framework for dynamic and quantitative imaging of the muscle in healthy subjects and patients.

The BAMM group has a strong focus on open and reproducible science, and you will work in an environment that encourages collaboration and sharing of ideas. The group is well connected to the international community, and we will strive to support your personal and professional development with one-to-one mentoring.

Your profile

  • PhD in MR Physics or related fields.
  • Good knowledge of MR Physics and MR sequence design/implementation (required).
  • Experience and interest in computer programming (Python preferred).
  • Commitment to open source software development and open and reproducible science.
  • Fluency in English
