at the Department of Psychology. Closing date: 16 May 2023.

Subject/subject description
Work and organizational psychology focuses on individuals’ work-related experiences, their reactions and actions in relation to the content and organization of work, individual circumstances, the ways in which individuals are part of and/or interact with groups and organizations and intersections between work and non-work roles in life. Studies include the importance of psychosocial and physical work environment factors for motivation and performance, for professional development, as well as for stress, health and well-being. Furthermore, the interaction between individual, group and organization is studied under various organizational conditions, including the mutual choices and preferences of organizations and individuals. Psychological aspects of paid work and unpaid work (e.g., in the home, in non-profit organizations), work-life interference, and related stress, as well as psychological aspects of unemployment are subject of analysis. In the demarcation with other “work sciences”, the individual perspective is particularly distinctive for work and organizational psychology.
